We are a spirit, we live in a body and we have a soul (Genesis 2:7,
17). Our spirit needs to be feed or it has the potential to experience
death as does our physical body. Bondage is a force on the inside of
us that keeps us from doing what we know that we need to do for God
(Galatians 5). The word of God says "where the spirit of the lord is
there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17). Freedom is desiring to do what
is right and carrying it out in a way that leaves you free from regret
or condemnation (Romans 8). Sometimes when we choose to do the right
thing we often have doubts about our decision. Our spirit believes the
word of God (James 1:21). Our soul believes the five senses and that is
where the confusion comes in to play. When you align your spirit and
soul to believe the word in unity, then your body responds according
to the word.
The spirit of the Lord is in every believer (Ephesians 1:13) but it is
not at its full capacity at the time of our new birth. We must ask God
to refresh, renew and revive the spirit at certain times in our lives.
The struggles of life can cause us to grieve or smother the spirit to
the point that we are not sensitive to its convictions (Psalm 51:10).
The comforter was sent to be our guide and helper. We must acknowledge
him as the power that enables us to walk out god's Grace. There is no
excuse for not being able to access the power that has been given to
us (1 Peter 1:3) to overcome. Last month I gave a testimony of how the
Holy Spirit led me on a fast that caused unwanted weight to fall off
of my body (Titus 3:5, Zechariah 4:6) in two weeks. This miracle was
not performed just for my own personal gain, but for God's glory.
We are told to walk by the Spirit and we will not be led by our flesh.
This is a truth that is vital if we are to continue to bear good fruit
(John 15). It is spoken in the word of God that one of the fruits of
the Spirit is self- control.
Today's challenge for each of us is:
Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
(James 1:22-25 KJV)
As we place this control into the hands of God and follow his guided
instructions victory will prevail!!!!
In The Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
